What a privilege it is for me to serve as the 2008-2009 President of Rockwall Women’s League.
This dynamic organization is comprised of 160 Active and Associate member committed to serving our community by promoting volunteerism and developing the potential of women through civic, educational, and social events. RWL was chartered in November, 1973 and since inception, we have returned nearly $1.8MM to the community through scholarships and grants.

Rockwall Women’s League members contribute over 5000 hours of volunteer time to our community each year. In addition to significant levels of service in our schools, RWL members volunteer their time and talents to a wide variety of local organizations including Lone Star Casa, Boys and Girls Clubs of Rockwall, Helping Hands, Music Fest, Rainbow Room, Rockwall Community on Aging (Meals on Wheels), Rockwall County Library, and Shoes for Kids.
Funds for our scholarships and grants are earned through one function annually. Our Charity Ball, with its differing themes each year, has become the focal point for RWL members. The proceeds from this gala fundraiser reached $170K in 2008, allowing the League to disburse $135K in scholarships and $35K in community grants. This would not be possible without the tremendous support and generosity of our community partners, active and associate members, local businesses, corporations, and the people of Rockwall County who so generously support our fundraiser. The satisfaction of serving others and the team effort necessary to organize our phenomenal gala has developed and nurtured meaningful friendships among the members.
